Professor Hulk is one of those drastic changes. He's pretty much a plot device; he's a normal, yet very strange looking scientist for 99% of the movie, so the "Professor Hulk" persona just felt like a plot device so he could use the gauntlet, and keep the other avengers alive after HQ gets bombed.
But the biggest problem I have is how they send off Steve Rogers. He's been hung on Peggy Carter for 12 years after waking up from the ice, and I was hoping that they would change that, since it really felt unnecessary. Yet, he goes back in time to live a life with her, which just seemed, immature and, yes, egotistical. "I'm the world's biggest superhero; I can do what I want and nobody can tell me otherwise. Hey sam. this is yours now, and you're going to LIKE IT."
The movie felt like a mishmash of reasons to have characters do stuff (which is kind of what movies are, but do you get what I mean. Clint's family died. so he becomes a serial killer? Natasha died instead of Clint, because I guess they can't spend time making her a family, no, they have to fridge her. And Captain Marvel is doing. stuff so she can't help out (although her entrance near the end was badass.
It had some really cool moments (Like Cap lifting Mjolnir, Tony snapping, Thanos getting decapitated, and the reentrance of the blipped) and an emotional death scene for Tony (the looking-gloomy shot at his funer went on way too long for me) which makes it worth watching. But hell, you can love this movie and you can hate this movie. It's all about your own thoughts. So it's not average just because I say so, and it's not amazing just because someone else says it. You get to decide.
